I tried to make JWA using rainwater and canola oil. The reaction with the two ingredients was not good, as you can see in the image below (white paste). This reaction happened 6 minutes after mixing. It became somewhat pasty...
Shortly after stopping mixing, the contents started to turn brown, a little less pasty. At this point the temperature is still a little high, and it seems that saponification has occurred, even if only a little.
Have you had these results? What could I have done wrong? The room temperature is around 22 °C, and the water is close to that too, made overnight.
